That was the title of a newspaper article over the weekend. The article states that doctors have figured out that giving your kids steroids doesn't help their wheezing. Gee, thanks for letting us know. How many years have you been prescribing steroids for breathing issues now?
Evidently the fact that it affects height and weight is a factor in not wanting to use it since there is not a significant benefit.
Dr Bradley Chipps says the study gives us good information that what we've been doing doesn't work and it gives us a lead to pursue a safer alternative.
This is what I say. Look for a safer alternative, first and always, other than prescription medicine of any kind. If you aren't in a life and death crisis and there is time for the body to heal itself through natural methods and natural support then, please, take the time to make the body healthy.
What I would do if someone I loved had breathing problems. First, they better be taking their liquid vitamins and minerals every day. That's the foundation for good health. Also, a drink made with essential greens, adding a coupld of drops of peppermint oil to the drink. Then we would be using eucalyptus oil, peppermint oil, and a blend called Breathe. Applied to the chest and diffused into the air. Also, a couple of drops in some hot tea would help.
The current consensus seems to be not to use vaporizers but that always helped my little one back when she was little.
