My mom said, a lot, "You must need more vitamins." or "Did you take your vitamins?" Stuff like that, always about vitamins. She also said "You must be eating too much sugar", but that's another post. She never said, "Did you take your minerals?" The only thing I remember discussing about minerals is to take calcium. That's it.
Here's the thing. We need minerals more than vitamins. Because the vitamins don't work without the minerals. Quote from United States Senate Document number 264: "In the absence of minerals vitamins have no function to perform. 99% of the American people are deficient in minerals, and a marked deficiency in any one of the more important minerals actually results in disease."
It also says this, "Most of us today are suffering from certain dangerous diet deficiencies which cannot be remedied until the depleted soils from which our foods come are brought into proper mineral balance. The alarming fact is that the foods - fruits, vegetables and grain, now being raised on millions of acres of land that no longer contains enough of certain needed minerals are starving us - no matter how much of them we eat!"
Dr Linus Pauling claimed, "You can trace every sickness, every disease, and every ailment to a mineral deficiency."
So I ask again, "Did you take your minerals today?"
